Welcome to the
Here you'll find some tips that might help your game, the next time you play.
Who has not had a challenge getting out of a bunker, let alone getting close to the flag.
Here is a
that will help you to get out of the bunker first. And after a bit of practise you will get closer and closer to your target.
When in the practise bunker, draw a circle half an inch wide around the ball in the sand. Now we see a perfect "fried egg" with the ball being the yolk.
Take an open stance with the ball slightly inside your left foot (naturally mirror image for you lefties out there).
Open the face of your sand iron towards the target.
When you hit there are 4 things that are important:
Make sure to hit the circle of sand out of the bunker (the ball will follow automatically)
Make sure to swing along the alignment of your feet
Keep the open clubface "open" throughout the whole strike
Make your follow through as far as your back swing is long
Follow these simple steps and your bunker game will improve.
The most important advise to good putting is
For a ball to have the best chance to end up in the hole is to have the right pace.
The right pace
is when the ball falls directly to the bottom of the cup without touching the back side of the hole.
This is best practiced with the following drill:
Take 6 golf balls
Line the balls up in one line
Starting 50 centimeters from the hole with the first one and every next ball 50 cms further back
Putt the balls into the hole with a speed that just reaches the hole
If you happen to miss one, just follow to the next ball
Target is to hole 4 out of 6
Do this exercise some 10 minutes before your tee time and see how well you start to putt!
